一路上乔治告诉了蜜蜂自己的计划。“先往去教堂的那条路走，一定能看到上次发现的那个湖。接着再穿过田野，走蜜蜂飞过的小路，就可以到达大湖。”“走蜜蜂的路”就是“笔直走”的意思，是一个乡下入喜欢用的比喻，他们俩不约而同地笑了，因为蜜蜂的名字莫名其妙地用在这句话里了。
